Atlanta Area Melting Pot Restaurant Owner, Mark and Layla Gunn, announced the launch of Pure Imagination charity in Napa Valley, California in 2010. The Gunn’s, philanthropists at the core, began their passion for children’s charities through their work with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital more than ten years ago. After raising more than $300,000 through various fundraisers, the duo decided to create a charity of their own.

“I believe it’s important to teach children to be compassionate toward other children in less fortunate circumstances and pay it forward,” Layla Gunn said.

“Hope is achieved when we are able to forget our troubles, even if just for a moment, and enjoy that special moment. That is where the idea of Pure Imagination was born.”

In 2011, Pure Imagination Charity partnered with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Through this partnership, the generous children that raise funds for the Pure Imagination program are generally matched with a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta patient with similar interests – and both children are able to experience an exclusive adventure together through the Pure Imagination program.

In addition, through various Pure Imagination Charity and Melting Pot Restaurant fundraisers this year, Mark and Layla Gunn have raised and contributed almost $100,000 to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
